ELBOW ROOM . Sufficient space to act in. Out at elbows; said of an estate that is mortgaged.
ELBOW SHAKER . A gamester, one who rattles Saint Hugh's bones, i.e. the dice.
ELF . A fairy or hobgoblin, a little man or woman.
